First-time setup
Seven simple steps
-
1
Power the Camera
Fit the battery and move the Camera’s power switch to ON. Allow a short time for it to start.
-
2
Find the Camera in Wi‑Fi settings
On your phone, tablet or computer, open Settings, then Wi‑Fi. Under the available networks, wait for RealiseMotion-AP and tap or click it.
-
3
Enter the setup password
Enter Realise123. Stay connected if your device says this Wi‑Fi has no internet—the Camera setup page is provided directly by the Camera.
-
4
Open the setup page
It may open automatically. If it does not, open a browser and visit http://68.68.68.68.
-
5
Add your home Wi‑Fi
Select your home network, enter its password, then choose Test and connect. For a hidden network, enter its exact name.
-
6
Let the Camera test it
Stay nearby while the Camera checks the connection. The setup page may briefly lose contact as the Camera changes networks—this is normal.
-
7
Return to your usual Wi‑Fi
Reconnect your phone or computer to the same Wi‑Fi you added to the Camera. The on-Camera setup resumes automatically and confirms the connection. You can later use MotionUnseen Locate to find it.
A safe handover
Your saved Wi‑Fi is protected
The Camera tests new details before saving them. If the password is wrong or the signal is too weak, the setup Wi‑Fi returns so you can try again.
Recommended next step
Link MotionUnseen Connect
For everyday viewing, use a MotionUnseen Connect subscription. It provides remote Camera access, copied images, object detection and analysis, Camera status and the wider Connect features without holding the full local Camera website open. Original images remain on the Camera.
Full local access
Finding the local Camera website
Your Camera saves battery by switching Wi-Fi off when it is not needed. If the local Camera website is not already open, use Locate while your device is on the same Wi-Fi as the Camera. Leave the Locate page open while it waits for the Camera to become available.
Once the local Camera website opens: you can close Locate. For everyday viewing, use a MotionUnseen Connect subscription for copied images, object detection and analysis, Camera status and the wider Connect features. Original images remain on the Camera.
If home Wi‑Fi changes
Reconnect a Camera
A configured Camera offers a recovery window after it starts.
- 1
Move close to the Camera.
- 2
Switch it off and on, or remove and refit the battery.
- 3
Within 15 minutes, join RealiseMotion-AP using password Realise123.
- 4
Open 68.68.68.68 and update the home Wi‑Fi details.
Missed the 15 minutes? Wave a hand close to the Camera for another 2-minute opportunity, or restart it for another 15 minutes.
Full local access uses more battery
Keeping the Camera’s Wi‑Fi and local website active uses more battery. For normal everyday viewing, use MotionUnseen Connect and open the full local website only when you need it.
Several Cameras
Find each Camera in one place
Each Camera can have its own local IP address. Locate can wait for and show all linked Cameras. Select one Camera to open its local website when it is available.
Open motionunseen.live/LocateTroubleshooting
Quick answers
I cannot see RealiseMotion-AP
Move close to the Camera and wave a hand in front of it, then check again for 2 minutes. Or restart the Camera and check for 15 minutes. If usable saved Wi-Fi is nearby, the Camera uses that instead.
The setup page did not open
Check that your device is still joined to RealiseMotion-AP using password Realise123. Ignore any “no internet” warning, then open a browser and enter http://68.68.68.68.
The Camera page lost its connection
Leave the page open. It displays “Camera connection lost. Waiting for the Camera to reconnect. This page will reload automatically.”
The page disappeared after I entered my password
The Camera may have joined home Wi‑Fi and closed its setup network. Reconnect your phone to home Wi‑Fi and open Locate. If setup failed, RealiseMotion-AP should return.
The Camera rejected my home Wi‑Fi
Check the network name and password. During setup, place the Camera closer to the router. MotionUnseen Camera requires a usable local address, gateway and Wi‑Fi signal before it saves the new details.
I am setting up several Cameras
Configure factory-new Cameras one at a time so you know which RealiseMotion-AP you are joining. After linking them, Locate can show all Cameras separately.
